So much happening, so little time

It has been a while since I posted. I don't know where the time goes. Physically, I'm still healing from the breast reconstruction (weekly trips to the hospital to suck liters of fluid from my back with huge frelling needles) and I'm regaining strength.

I've been deeply involved in the construction of The Ben Browder Portal with a wonderful group of women. We had some problems and growing pains but it is mostly smooth sailing now. I grow frustrated with all of the details of working with a committee, but that is a growing pain for me too (learning curves hurt). I am excited about the possibility of meeting Ben at Burbank. Yay, I'm going west in November. My first convention. I am so excited about meeting the people I converse with virtually. This is a present to myself for all the dren of the past 2 years.

Hubby is up for a job with the government. He is turning his life around (mid-life crisises and cancer sort of suck the enthusiasm out of a soul) and maybe we will get back on track. The girls had a great summer. My older daughter actually participated in a circus by eating fire. It was amazing.

I am also inviting all Ben Browder fans to hop over to a new community that twichie has built called browderondemand. We want to play in Ben's many fandoms. The community will have fanfiction challenges and co-writing projects, graphics contests and challenges, and just plain ole discussion of Stargate, Farscape, A Killer Within and any other projects and fandoms he has been involved in. Any Family of Five fans? See, I'm psyched.

On another note, I've been reading the analyses and reviews of Stargate posted on the lj and Mitchell to me is such a cypher (other than his Southern Boy charm and snark). I am waiting for him to actually lead instead of reacting. I do love Daniel though. Fast talking archeologists vs. slow talking soldiers who I believe people underestimate is an interesting scenario.

Thats all for now.

Hey Rita,

I was just thinking this morning 'I should write her and ask how she's doing.' I'm glad you're getting better and better (in spite of the big needles *shudder*) and things are looking up. And you so deserve the trip to Burbank to see BB. Glad the family is doing well, too.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Marcel. Hope your summer was good.
Hope your summer was good.

Not bad. Work, getting fired and rehired two weeks later. The usual ;-)

Glad to hear you are recovering. I'm so happy for you that you get to go to the con in November, it should be a blast. :)
I take every day individually, but thanks for the kind thoughts.
i was just over at your journal last night hoping you were ok. i'm so glad that you're feeling better, you have incredible strength and courage. *hugs*

i hope you have a wonderful time in november. and that things go well with your husband's job situation.

*more hugs*
Aw. You know we all find the strength to do what we have to. I really appreciate your support. It means a lot.
it's my pleasure. *more hugs*
Jirl, I am so glad things are turning around for you. Needles (De runs away streaking from fear of needles). I can't wait for the Ben site to be up and running. I have directed a few hopeful newbies to go that way when it is up and running again.

Positive thoughts...your hubby will get good gov job, your strength will be ten fold. And you will have a blast at Burbank....go for it girl.
